Guidelines

Guidelines for dogs or cats in the cabin before and during the flight
  • The dog or cat must be kept in an approved, waterproof transport bag (max. 40 x 25 x 23 cm in size) that can be completely closed.
  • There must be room for the animal to lie down and turn around.
  • The dog or cat must have access to water during the journey.
  • The bag must be kept like all other hand luggage – it must be placed under the seat in front of you during take-off and landing. During the journey, you are only allowed to take the bag onto your lap en route if this can be done without disturbing the people sitting next to you.
  • You are not permitted to take the dog or cat out of the carrying case at any time, so long as you are in the plane.
  • Travellers carrying dogs or cats in the cabin will be allocated seats in the rear of the aircraft, out of consideration for any passengers who may suffer from allergies.
Guidelines for dogs or cats in the cargo hold
  •  The dog or cat must be kept in an approved pet animal travel container (max. 88 cm in height) that can be completely closed.
  • There must be room for the animal to lie down and turn around.
  • The dog or cat must have access to water during the journey.
  • The dog or cat must not be drugged upon arrival at the airport. The staff at the airport may require that the dog or cat can be taken out of the box.
Vaccinations

Please note that it is always the passenger’s responsibility to have all necessary vaccinations and documents for animals in order. These documents must be presented at check-in.
